Dr. Tracy Nykamp
Veterinarian, Practice Owner
Dr. Tracy Nykamp started working at the Hamilton Vet Clinic in 1989, at the age of 13, as a kennel worker. During middle school and high school, she worked almost every position at the clinic, which reinforced her decision to become a veterinarian. She completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Michigan State University. Dr. Nykamp purchased the clinic from Dr. Fred Chmielewski in 2012.
Dr. Nykamp and her husband, Scott, have two children, Tiernan and Breslin. Her family has one dog, an English Creme Golden Retriever, named Dawson, and two cats, Xander and Holden. She enjoys attending MSU sporting events with her family and spending time at the lake with her family.
Dr. Andrew Vanden Bosch
Veterinarian
Dr. Andrew Vanden Bosch started working at Hamilton Vet Clinic in 2022. He attended Grand Valley University for undergraduate studies and the Ohio State University CVM for his veterinary degree. He enjoys working with a great team to help people keep their pets healthy. Dr. Andrew and his wife, Tracy, have a 2-year-old son, Lucas. He has three mixed breed dogs Rosie, Cooper, and Chauncey. Dr. Andrew and his family also have three cats, Zeb, Hera and Sabine.
Amy Lubbers
Practice Manager
Amy graduated from Baker College in 2007 and joined our staff as a licensed technician. She was a LVT for 14 years but in 2021 she became the Practice Manager. Amy has always had a passion for animals and providing the best care for them. Over her many years of working with us, that passion has grown into educating clients on their pet’s care. Amy and her husband, Ryan have three beautiful children, they have two sons, Jace and Brooks and a daughter, Emarie. Amy and her family have an English Creme retriever named Riggs and two cats, Blue and Maizie. Amy and her family enjoy spending time boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.
Val
Licensed Vet Technician
Val began working for our staff shortly after she graduated from Baker College in 2008. In addition to her role as licensed technician she has the added responsibility of managing our lab and surgical equipment. Her efficient manner and attention to detail helps keep everything running smoothly. Val and her husband Scott have a son, Paxton, and a daughter, Haven. They also have two cats, Gilly and Tilly. She enjoys making memories with her wonderful kids. She also enjoys skiing in the winter and boating in the summer.
Julie
Licensed Vet Technician
Julie has been a part of our team since 2019. She is one of our Licensed Veterinary Technicians. She went to college at MSU to become an LVT. She enjoys all aspects of being an LVT. She has been in the Veterinary field for awhile. She loves making sure the pet owners know everything that she does and informing the clients as much as she can. Julie has two daughters and enjoys spending time with them. She has two cats, Tike and Pollex. In her free time she likes to do artsy projects and enjoys scrapbooking.
Kayla
Licensed Vet Technician
We welcomed Kayla on our team in 2021 as a LVT. Kayla has been a great addition to our staff. Kayla has two brothers and a sister, and is a triplet! Kayla has 5 horses and a dog named Dixie. Kayla enjoys hiking, riding horses, playing softball, and reading.
Anna
Licensed Vet Technician
Anna joined our team in 2022 as a licensed vet technician. She studied at Baker College to be an LVT. Anna enjoys getting to know her patients and their owners and being able to see pets grow up over time! She also really enjoys doing dentals and seeing the difference a cleaning can make on a pet’s overall health. Anna and her husband, Cody have a English Cream Retriever who is very spoiled. When Anna is not working, she enjoys going on adventures in the UP, camping, hunting, gardening and spending time outside.
Allison
Licensed Vet Technician
Allison joined our team in 2018. Allison is one of our amazing licensed vet technicians. She went to Baker college to become an LVT. Allison enjoys making each experience for both the pet and owner a positive experience. Her goal is to take the time and build trust with the pet to lower their stress and anxiety. Allison loves helping take care of emergency cases that come in as well as tending to hospitalized patients. In her free time she enjoys hiking with her dog.
Paige
Doctor’s Assistant
Paige has been working for us since 2020 as a vet assistant. Paige has a deep passion for all animals. She loves offering compassionate and understanding care for both patients and their owners. Paige married her husband, Adam in 2017. Paige and Adam have two dogs, Renyx, Arlo and five cats, Niklaus, Coal, Caroline, Davina, Freya. Paige also has a horse named Richard. In her free time she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, cooking, and hosting events with friends.
Robin
Doctor’s Assistant
We welcomed Robin to our team in 2018 as a vet assistant and receptionist. Robin has always loved animals and always wanted to work in a field where she can help animals in any way that she can. Robin is married with two children, a daughter named Haylen and a son named Hudson. She and her family have a yellow lab mix named Bella, a rat terrier mix named Finley, and a cat named Chloe. She also has ducks and chickens. When Robin is not working she enjoys being outdoors, going on hikes, and spending time with family.
Tiernan
Receptionist
Tiernan is Dr. Tracy’s daughter and is a great addition to our staff!. She helps at the front desk and with treating animals. She enjoys helping animals and loves customer service. She also loves working with her mom and being part of the family business. Tiernan has four of her own dogs: Harlee, Miles, Maylie and Raina. In her free time she likes to go on hikes, spend time at the cottage, and play softball.
Lisa
Receptionist
Lisa joined our team in 2022 and welcomes and greets everyone at the front desk as a receptionist. Lisa loves people and animals, this is a great job for her because she can help both! Lisa also enjoys learning new things and growing as a person everyday. Lisa has one daughter, Aubree. She also has a fluffy goldendoodle, Kevin. She enjoys being outside, spending time with family, doing puzzles, and mostly, golfing.
